CFLO is excited to be taking part in the 2021 Art Crawl! This year we're hosting Naomi Lemon, and Kerri Sandve, of Carbon Copy Press. Both are artists we've been working with since the store opened, in 2016, and we thought what better way to celebrate 5 years by asking them to show us some new work!
October 15-17, with reception, Saturday, from 5-9 pm, featuring live music from Mark Sovari on our outdoor stage, lite snacks, and beverages!

Naomi Lemon

“My favorite things are beauty and hearts, so I only want draw pictures of
beautiful women and hearts.”
Born in Tokyo in 1972, Naomi has lived in St. Paul MN since 2012. Her passion as a child was reading Japanese Manga, so she aspired to become a comic artist. Naomi created Manga for 5 years for the fashion magazine NYLON Japan ( 2013 - 2018 ). After becoming mother to 2 children, Naomi navigates her work/life balance by expressing herself thru her art while raising her children.

Kerri Sandve

"To lost objects being found and to stories/histories/moments continuing on. "

Kerri (Mulcare) Sandve (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist and writer from St. Paul, MN working under the imprint Carbon Copy Co. Press. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Print, Paper, Book Arts from Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Her primary methods of making revolve around printmaking, collage, and artist books. Her work centers on memory, personal archive, and human-landscape relationships. These often highlight aspects of connection to the land and to each other, loss, and the non-linearity of time.

The works in the Lost & Found series are playful, humorous, and colorful portrayals of moments captured, lost, discovered, and given a new story with paint markers and gouache. The series started after collecting old photos and drawing and embroidering on them. One day, a ghost appeared and it brought me a lot of joy. Where I can, I leave the titles as the writing found on the back of each photograph.
